Success At High School Parent Information Session 9 February 2016

There are still places available for this information session.
This information session is aimed at parents of primary students in years 5 and 6.
No matter which high school your child will be going to, there are building blocks for their success.
Join experienced educators Julianne Beek, Darren Galea, Mark Marciniak and James Nobbs to hear about how high schools work, how to support your child's study and organisational skills and what the adminstrative processes are. 
Our speakers have a wealth of information to offer through their various roles as Principals and Assistant Principals at Public and Selective High Schools, Primary Schools and in international education consultancy.
You are also able to hear from student speakers who will tell you first hand of their transition to high school and there are ample opportunities to ask questions.
Supported by the information provided, you will be able to navigate the upcoming high school open days and help your child to succeed at high school.
Light refreshments will be served.

Two Weeks Left to Vote on Febrary New Release Books

Would you like to help us select items for the library book collection?
There are only two weeks left to vote on the selection of new books to be released in February. The more votes an item has the more likely it will be purchased. You can only vote for a book once.

To start voting go to the library catalogue -http://library.rockdale.nsw.gov.au/
Click on the "Vote For New Books" tab at the top of the screen
Enter your email address, card number and the branch you use the most and start selecting books.
To vote on a book click Vote button that appears under the title of the book

You can vote on as many books as you like.

Voting closes on 8 January 2016.

Bookings are open for our Summer School Holiday Activities Program for Primary School Students.

Vote for New Books to be Purchased by Rockdale City Library

Would you like to help us select items for the library book collection?


We have a selection of new books to be released in February from our book supplier for you to vote on. The more votes an item has the more likely it will be purchased. You can only vote for a book once.

BIG Storytime Christmas Party

Flashback Friday

Public Holiday Closures December 2015/January 2016

The libraries at Arncliffe, Bexley, Bexley North and Brighton will close at 1pm on Thursday 24 December 2015 for the Christmas Holidays. 


Arncliffe will reopen on:

Tuesday 29 December 10am – 6pm
Wednesday 30 December 10am – 6pm
Thursday 31 December 10am – 1pm
Saturday 2 January 10am - 1pm

All other branch libraries will be closed between 25 December 2015 and 1 January 2016. 

Our after hours returns chutes will be unavailable at the branch libraries until Saturday 2 January. 


Your loans won't be due back until after the holiday period. Items can be returned to Arncliffe from 29 December 2015.

All libraries will be closed on 1 January 2016

Usual opening hours will resume on Saturday 2 January 2016

Looking for something to do over summer? Enter our Summer Reading Club for Preschoolers, Primary School Students and Teens!


Win great prizes and journey into lost worlds with some of your favourite authors.

All reading logs must be handed in before or on 9 January to receive a prize. Anyone who reads 5 books qualifies for a prize pack.

We are running three clubs this year, one for preschoolers, one for primary school students and one for teens.

Seven Sleeps Until The Big Storytime Christmas Party

Calling all Preschoolers! There are only seven sleeps until the Big Storytime Christmas Party in Rockdale Town Hall. There will be crafts, face painting, music, food and a photo opportunity with Santa.

Please do NOT bring any presents for your child. Don't forget to bring your own camera or mobile device, if you wish to take a picture of your child with Santa.
Please book a ticket for yourself as well as each child attending with you and bring your tickets with you.

Doors will open 15 minutes before the event. Please have your tickets ready when you arrive.
