1st Wednesday Book Group

The next meeting of the 1st Wednesday Book Group is on 7 April 2010. The group will be discussing A short history of tractors in Ukranian by Marina Lewycka. This book is a heartwarming story of a man and his relationship with his two daughtors

Public Holiday Closures


Rockdale Library and the branches at Arncliffe, Bexley North and Sans Souci will be closed on 2, 3 and 5 April 2010 for the Easter long weekend. The branch at Bexley will also be closed on Monday 5 April.


The libraries will reopen at their usual time on Tuesday 6 April 2010.

We apologise for any inconvenience and hope everyone has a nice long weekend.

Rockdale Readers Book Group

About the book
A murder, a secret and a detective who won’t let go...

Detective Ella Marconi tracks down Georgie Riley, the student who found the body, and who is now a paramedic. And is it mere coincidence that her ambulance partner, Freya, also went to the same high school?

Free Online Computer Training


Rockdale Library has a package of online computer training courses for you to use. They are ideal for anyone with some computer skills who would like to learn more, or refresh their skills. All you need is a valid library card to access them.

The courses currently available are:
  • Introduction to Computer Technology
  • Using and searching the Internet
  • Microsoft Office 2007
  • Microsoft Windows Vista
  • Setting up email accounts

To Access World Book Online


Log into your Library Account at http://library.rockdale.nsw.gov.au
Enter:
Your library card number in the ID box
Your date of birth entered as dd/mm/yyyy in the PIN box
Click on Login
Click on My Database to view the Online Computer Training Courses
Click on the text.
You will be prompted to enter your library card number
If you are a new user you will be prompted to create an account, which will then track your progress as you work through the tutorials.
