School Holiday Activities at Rockdale Library

Please join us at Rockdale City Library & Community Information Services for our July School Holiday Activities Program.

There are exciting Aboriginal themed arts and craft activities on at our branches at Arncliffe, Bexley, Bexley North, Rockdale and Sans Souci.

1st Wednesday Book Group

The next meeting of the 1st Wednesday Book Group is on 7 July 2010. The group will be discussing Brave New World by Aldus Huxley.

If you have read this book, please join us for the discussion at 10.30am in Rockdale Library.

The book for August is Captain Corelli's Mandolin by Louis de Bernieres.

Rockdale Readers Book Group

The next meeting of the Rockdale Readers book group will be on 18 June 2010. The group will be discussing Notes on a Scandal by Zoe Heller.

If you have read the book please join us at Rockdale Library at 5.30pm. Newcomers are most welcome.

In July the group will be discussing The Sea, the sea by Iris Murdoch.

Library & Information Week 23 - 28 May 2010

Rockdale Library and Information Services is celebrating Library & Information Week with a series of interesting demonstrations, talks and morning and afternoon tea.

Monday 24 May A group of 40 people got to enjoy a French cooking demonstration.

Tuesday 25 May 3 - 4pm  Afternoon tea at Rockdale Library
Wednesday 26 May 11 am National Simultaneous Storytime at Rockdale & Bexley North Libraries. National Simultaneous Storytime is a campaign organised by the Australian Library & Information Association in which a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author, is read to children simultaneously in a variety of venues around Australia. No booking is required.
Wednesday 26 May 2 -3pm, Rockdale Library, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle - Rockdale City Council's Waste Education Officer, Geoff Raymond, will provide an intersting and informative session on simple steps you can take to help reduce waste in our environment. Come along and learn how you can help make a difference.
Thursday 27 May Arncliffe Library Australia's Biggest Morning Tea. Please contact Arncliffe for more details on 9562 1816.
Friday 28 May 10 - 11am, Rockdale Library Beading Workshop. Unfortunately this event has been booked out.
